Angey Rideout credits her life experience as inspiration for her various forms of artwork and she spend a great deal of time outside hunting and backpacking. Dabbling in several different mediums, Angey does beadwork, photography, carving, regalia, and a weaver.
Angey was born in Portland and traveled extensively in her younger years. She is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and her family is from Rogue River/Takelma Tribe. Her great-great grandmother was a well known basket weaver and Angey is proud to carry on this tradition herself as well as passing the skill down to her daughter.
“My goal as an artist is to carry on our traditions and to leave a trail of our families craft for future generations”-Angey Rideout
